Peachey Bazo Productions had their first meeting and test shoot this Thanksgiving weekend regarding a really exciting new addition to our little blog: Toronto Theatre Revue, a monthly half-hour Youtube show spotlighting local amateur theatre! Much like Siskel and Ebert, Melissa (@BazoPhotography) and I (@TCTBlogger) will co-host this program and each review our favourite community theatre plays that are currently still playing when we go to air!

Melissa, a Barrie, Ontario resident will also produce and host her own segment, “Rural Roots“, where she will travel around Southern Ontario every month, exploring small-town community theatre. Expect to see South Simcoe Theatre’s production of Fiddler on the Roof featured in our first episode! Back here in the GTA, I will produce a monthly feature called “The Originals”. Expect to see interviews with the most prominent actors in the Toronto community theatre scene.

Finally, our program welcomes any contributions from artists, producers, charities, or anyone who would like their work promoted in our “Upcoming Events” section at the bottom of the half hour.

Here are a few embarrassingly awkward behind the scenes moments from this weekend of drinking and brainstorming and Thanksgiving dinner:

First time on camera!

I guess you’re wondering how you can help us out. Well, to produce our first episode, we need to buy:

Two wireless Lavalier Microphones

One used Digital SLR Camera

The materials to build our own teleprompter system

$100 in set design materials from Jysk.

A nominal fee for a very kind editing student who is editing our show free of charge.

Makeup supplies (We have a volunteer makeup artist)

A nominal fee to pay a camera person to film and direct “The Originals” segment.

Gas money for the “Rural Roots” segment.

If you love supporting and promoting amateur, community theatre as much as we do, we’ve set up a Patreon account so you can help us out. In exchange for any donation, you will be listed as a supporter during the closing credits of our program!
